Elton John recovering from operation

Elton John is reported to be recovering at home in Nice after an operation.

The singer and songwriter had his appendix removed at Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco last Thursday 1st August.

John had previously suffered significant pain that he had put down to food poisoning, but that turned out to be an abscess on his appendix.

“I’m lucky to be alive,” he said. “I was a ticking time bomb. I guess I could have died at any time. I feel so lucky and so grateful to be alive.”
