Former My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way is to perform his first ever solo shows at this year’s Reading and Leeds Festivals.
The singer heads up a list of newly confirmed acts at this year’s event, including Schoolboy Q, Maverick Sabre, DZ Deathrays and La Dispute.
Way launched his own website earlier in the year, Gerardway.com, with a blog post stating that he had agreed a deal with Warner Bros. Records and was close to finishing a solo album.
Paramore, Queens of the Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys and Blink-182 will headline Reading and Leeds Festivals 2014. It will be both Queens of The Stone Age and Paramore’s only UK festival appearances of the summer. They will be joined on the bill by a host of acts, including King Charles, Southern, We Are Scientists, The Amazing Snakeheads, American Authors, Little Matador, The Minutes, Leaders Of Men, The Sunshine Underground, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Sivu, Drowners, and Lucius and Saint Raymond.
