BBC4 to show Foo Fighters documentary series

Following confirmation that they had bought the rights to show the series in the UK, the BBC have now revealed a broadcast schedule for the HBO produced Foo Fighters documentary series, Sonic Highways.

The series, which documents the making of Foo Fighters’ new album of the same name, will air from the 26th of October on BBC4. HBO have described the programme as “a love letter to the history of American music.”

Each song from the new album was recorded in a different American city, involving a number of high profile guest musicians. The recording process took in visits to Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle and Washington, D.C.

BBC Four Editor Cassian Harrison said of the series: “BBC Four is renowned for its music programming and I am delighted we have acquired this innovative series that takes viewers into the very roots of popular music, in an epic nationwide odyssey.”
