Michael Monroe, former frontman of Hanoi Rocks, is to release a new solo album this year.
The singer confirms in a statement that he has renewed his contract with Universal/Spinefarm and has already written a raft of new material.
Says Monroe of the news: “The album is being produced by Swedish producer Chips Kiesbye and we started recording it at the end of February in Gothenburg, Sweden.
“We’re all really excited about the new project. This is guaranteed to become another brilliant new Michael Monroe album!”
Recording is expected to continue until mid-March, with the first single due in the Spring.
The new LP will be the follow up to Monroe’s previous album, Horns & Halos, released in 2013. Prior album, Sensory Overdrive, was released in 2011 and was awarded Album Of The Year by Classic Rock magazine.
The as yet untitled new album is expected to be released in the Autumn.
