Canadian hard rock outfit Kobra And The Lotus have shared a video for their new single, a cover of “Black Velvet.”
Originally recorded by Alannah Myles and a hit in 1990, the song features on the band’s new covers EP, Words Of The Prophets, featuring tracks by some of Kobra And The Lotus’ favourite Canadian artists.
Set for release on the 28th of August via Spinefarm Records, the new collection of songs was produced by Grammy-nominated Johnny K, who also worked with the band on their most recent studio album, High Priestess.
Say the band in a statment: “You know, Kobra And The Lotus is a riff-loving, vocal-wailing, storm-bringing band, but we couldn’t be who we are without acknowledging the true roots that were laid down before us. Words Of The Prophets is a tribute to some classic Canadian musicians – these songs carry a ton of nostalgia, and inspire ambitious journeys… and we hope to rub some of that off on you!”
