Let’s just get straight down to it. No waffle or BS. 2016 has been a shit year for many-a-reason. But there has been some incredible sonic art released over the last 12 months. Here are the albums that Skin Back Alley considers the best of the year.
It should be said that beyond a certain point the numeric ranking of these albums becomes somewhat arbitrary. It’s nigh on impossible to choose between some of them, but we do love a good list.

Huge shout out at the end of this list to Seattle’s finest, The Salt Riot, whose album, Dead Star, would have topped this list as the best damn thing SBA heard all year, but for the fact that it was actually released in 2015!
