As Lions reveal debut live show in London

As Lions, the band that has emerged from the ashes of Rise To Remain, have announced their debut live show.

The metalheads are set to play at the Camden Barfly on the 11th of February, with support coming from Monument, Stellify and Brutai.

The news comes just a week after the band shared their first song, “The Fall”, which is available to download for free via Soundcloud now, and which you can listen to below:

Says frontman Austin Dickinson of the song: “’The Fall’ is a song seething with an energy and determination that I have never felt before. Coming off the back of our former projects, it would be far too easy to release something that ‘treads the water’. We wanted this one out there first because it has that crucial diversity that sets us apart, but at its heart has the anthemic core and the fleshed out heaviness that made me want to make music in the first place. It’s a direct, impassioned and honest statement of intent for our future.”

As Lions’ debut album is expected later this year. Tickets for the Barfly show are available here.

Rise To Remain are no more; As Lions emerge from the ashes

As Rise To Remain split, new band – As Lions – emerge from the ashes

Rise To Remain have announced that they have split.

Frontman Austin Dickinson revealed the news via the band’s Facebook page, writing:

“Its [sic] with a mixture of sadness and excitement that we reveal to everybody that Rise To Remain is no more. We travelled the world with this band, and, because of the people who supported us, managed to achieve so many things we never thought possible.

“Living the dream, in many cases, is not enough to hold it all together when the band is not stable, and after putting together the second record, Adam told us he was in a place where he felt the pressure of the album and the upcoming cycle and couldn’t continue, leading Ben to quit music altogether. To continue the band at this point, with as many line up changes as its had, with the two original members being Will and myself, seems pointless.”

Dickinson continues: “I wouldn’t say that this news is necessarily unexpected, as its been quiet on here for some time. We don’t feel any blame or animosity.”

But all is not lost for fans of the musicians. As Dickinson explains, a new band is now working on material.

“AS LIONS is the new band that Will, Conor and I have been working on since early last year. We wanted to take our time with it and build the material to the point where we knew we could burn the place to the ground. This is that time.

“There is no other way to kick this off, than with an anthem, a straight up belter, one that you can sing and move to.”

That song is “The Fall”, and you can listen to it via the stream below:

“Touring and shows will be announced shortly, but for now, we would rather let the song speak for itself, and find out what your reactions are,” Dickinson concludes.
