Bloc Party guitarist in Lion attack

Russell Lissack, guitarist with British indie band Bloc Party, has been bitten by a lion whilst on tour in South Africa.

Lissack, who has been playing guitar on tour with Irish rockers Ash, was bitten when visiting an animal sanctuary in Cape Town.

He was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital for examination, given a tetanus booster and released.

Bloc Party are currently on hiatus, with frontman Kele Okereke having released his debut solo LP The Boxer earlier in the year. Ash are now back in the UK and release a singles compilation A-Z Single on October 11th.
