Rev Theory have signed to new imprint, Another Century

Century Media, the renowned heavy metal record label, have branched out, with founder Robert Kampf launching a new imprint focusing on hard rock.

Another Century have already signed three acts to their roster, including LA hard rock stalwarts Rev Theory, Chicago based outfit The Bloodline, and New Zealand band Like A Storm.

Says Kampf of the new venture: “Twenty five years after starting Century Media, the excitement to do another version of the label could not be any larger. My undying love for rock has driven the formation of this label, Another Century.

“Over the years, great bands like Otherwise and In This Moment have been released on Century Media but sometimes got lost or felt ill mixed among some of the heavier CM bands. Another Century now has a clear path and mission statement: To develop and break the best bands in rock to come.”

Century Media formed in 1988, and were instrumental in forging the careers of bands such as Eyehategod, Iced Earth and In This Moment. The label is also currently home to Lacuna Coil, Napalm Death and Arch Enemy.

Arch Enemy working on new album

Arch Enemy

Arch Enemy have announced that they are working on the follow up to 2011’s Khaos Legions album.

Guitarist and songwriter Michael Amott explains: “This album is actually very different from Khaos Legions. All of our albums have had their own vibe, and this one will be its own entity as well. Lyrically, it’s a much more personal record, and musically, I feel the songs have more dynamics and depth than ever before.”

“There’s certainly very heavy and aggressive metal taking place,” he continues, “but there’s also another level of melody that excites me. There’s a wide spectrum of variety in the material… A couple of the songs feature real strings, and it’ll be interesting how our fans will take to that. I am pretty sure they’ll love it!”

The album is likely to be released later this year via Century Media and Arch Enemy play the UK’s Alt-Fest in August.
