Brian Fallon: New Gaslight Anthem album has “completely different vibe”

Brian Fallon, frontman with New Jersey rockers The Gaslight Anthem, has said that fans should be prepared for their new album to have a “completely different vibe.”

Speaking in this week’s issue of NME, Fallon says the band have undergone a period of change whilst making new album, Get Hurt.

“You get a realisation at some point in your career that whatever it is you do, you can no longer continue to do it. You just realise you can’t put out the same records forever,” he said.

“I think people are going to be like, ‘Wow, I didn’t know a band that play punk rock could play something that heavy, or something that pretty. I think also there are some sings that are realy calm, and I don’t know if people knew that we could do that. I didn’t know that we could do that.”

Get Hurt will be released on the 18th of August, with the tracklisting as follows:

The Gaslight Anthem announce new album and UK tour

The Gaslight Anthem have revealed details of their new album and UK tour.

Titled Get Hurt, the album will be released via Virgin/EMI on the 18th of August. It was recorded in Nashville at Blackbird Studios with producer Mike Crossey at the controls.

The release will be supported by a five-date UK headline tour, with the band playing some of their biggest UK shows to date. The live shows will kick off in Manchester on the 17th of November, before passing through London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Birmingham.
