Iron Maiden share video for ‘Death or Glory’

Iron Maiden 2015 promo

Iron Maiden have released a video for their track “Death or Glory.”

The song features on The Book Of Souls, ‘Maiden’s most recent album and the band’s first studio double LP.

The video opens with a look at Ed Force One, the band’s customised Boeing 747 jet piloted by Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson, before interspersing concert footage from their current world tour which began in February.

Iron Maiden are set to close next weekend’s Download festival with a headline slot on Sunday the 12th of June. It’s ‘Maiden’s only confirmed UK appearance in 2016.

Says Dickinson: “Download is a very special place for us. Not just because it’s always great to play on home turf but because there’s a truly unique vibe there, it’s the very heart of England and of metal, so a fitting place for Iron Maiden.

“The crowd is always fiercely passionate and the whole band feeds off that famous Donington energy. We aim to deliver a really memorable show for our fans to close the 2016 Festival.

“Although this is our sixth time headlining at Castle Donington, it’s the first time we’ve been able to land Ed Force One right on the doorstep of the festival site.”

Iron Maiden announce limited edition Trooper Red n’ Black porter beer

Iron Maiden Trooper Red N Black crop

Iron Maiden have announced a new limited edition beer from their award-winning Trooper range.

Available from September this year, Trooper Red N’ Black will be the third beer from the metal legends’ stable, following on from the success of the band’s original Trooper brew and last year’s limited edition Trooper 666.

The beer, once again designed by Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson and Robinsons’ head brewer Martyn Weeks, takes its inspiration from a very early Robinsons recipe from the 1850s, a time when porter style beer was becoming increasingly popular in Britain.

Says Dickinson: “I like tasting outside the box. Stouts and porters were virgin territory for me, so I just went by feel. Martyn and I hope we have created a new take on a classic beer and one which I hope will tickle the taste buds of ale fans in a pleasantly unexpected way.”

John Robinson, brands manager for Robinsons Brewery, adds: “With millions of pints sold in 55 countries worldwide, it’s safe to say that Trooper remains a phenomenal success. Last year, we released Trooper 666 at the request of the fans, and this year we are happy to be releasing another limited-edition beer that broadens the Trooper range in an ever evolving and vibrant beer market.”

Trooper Red ‘N’ Black uses a blend of chocolate and crystal malts which help give the beer a roasted malt and caramel backbone. Robinsons yeast, the same strain which has been used in the Stockport brewer’s beers since 1942, provides hints of both liquorice and honey to create a delicious warming brew.

At 6.8% in bottle or 5.8% ABV in cask, Trooper Red ‘N’ Black is the strongest beer in the range to date. The brew takes its name from both the color of the beer, which glows red when held up to light, and the song “The Red And The Black” from Iron Maiden’s critically acclaimed 2015 album The Book Of Souls.
