Twenty Two Hundred to support Slash on UK leg of ‘World On Fire’ tour

Australian rockers Twenty Two Hundred have been invited to open for Slash during his forthcoming UK tour.

Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators have scheduled a series of UK dates for the end of the year. The shows will follow the release of Slash’s new album, World On Fire, in September.

Twenty Two Hundred’s songwriter, bassist and founding member Mark Wells – whose career kicked off in the UK playing for and producing Ronnie Wood’s Not for Beginners album – said: “This is such an amazing opportunity. Slash could have chosen any number of kick-ass bands. We were invited to join them on this leg of the tour and I’m looking forward to returning with Twenty Two Hundred and giving UK audiences a KILLER show!”

California Breed will also be playing a support slot on the tour, with confirmed dates as follows:

28th of Nov: Phones 4u Arena, Manchester
29th of Nov: First Direct Arena, Leeds
1st of Dec: LG Arena, Birmingham
2nd of Dec: Wembley Arena, London
4th of Dec: Hydro Arena, Glasgow

Slash releases teaser for new album, ‘World On Fire’

Slash has released a teaser clip of the title track from his forthcoming solo album, World On Fire. You can hear it below.

The follow up to his 2012 album, Apocalyptic Love, the guitarist has described the process of writing and recording his new album as “effortless.”

“It happens very rarely – there’s a certain energy that carries the creative process, and it’s almost like you just ride that wave” he said.

The single of “World On Fire” is due for release this coming Friday, 13th of June. The parent album will then be released in the UK as a Classick Rock Magazine Fan Pack on the 15th of September, a full four weeks ahead of it’s scheduled commercial release. As well as the album, the Fan Pack includes a pin badge, a 116 page magzine featuring interviews and a track by track breakdown. If you pre-order the pack before the 11th of August, you’ll also receive an exclusive giant poster.

Slash to tour UK arenas in November and December

Slash has announced that he is to play four UK arena dates this coming November and December.

The legendary guitarist will play Manchester Phones4U Arena on the 29th of November, followed by Leeds First Direct Arena the next day. On the 1st of December the tour visits Birmingham LG Arena, before concluding at London Wembley Arena on the 2nd of December. Support for the shows will come in the form of Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, plus other special guests.

Slash’s bassist, Todd Kerns, revealed earlier this year that work has begun on the former Guns N’ Roses guitarist’s third solo album. He described the new material as “sleazier, tougher and more dangerous. Exactly where I feel most comfortable. We are all very excited to unleash the monster upon you as soon as we can.”

O2 Priority tickets for Slash’s UK shows go on sale tomorrow morning at 9am (28th May.)
