Mick Murphy, lead guitarist and composer with My Ruin, is to release a signature guitar with GJ2 Guitars.

Set to be revealed at this year’s 2014 NAMM convention, the ‘Triple M’ – or ‘Mick Murphy Model’ – is described by GJ2 founder Grover Jackson as “a stripped-down, straight ahead rock machine that looks and plays like a rocket.”

Murphy joined the GJ2 artist roster last year after meeting Jackson at a Chevy Metal gig that took place on the two men’s shared birthday of 17th July. Jackson and GJ2 partner Jon Gold signed the loan guitar that Mick had been playing during the show and gifted it to him as a birthday present. The rest, as they say, is history.

The ‘Triple M’ will bear Murphy’s trademark =MM= signature and features a single humbucker with a hard-tail bridge. It will be available in a new set of colours that are exclusive to the model.

Murphy has played a vintage ‘RR’ model Jackson for years and counts it amongst his favourites in his collection. “My GJ2 guitars are so awesome I no longer want to play anything else” he says. “They’re the best guitars I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing. I’m proud to be a part of the GJ2 family.”

Murphy, Jackson and Gold will reveal the guitar at the NAMM 2014 Preview Day on Wednesday 22nd January, where they will discuss and demo the model on stage.
