Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds to release back catalogue on vinyl

Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds are set to reissue 14 albums from their back catalogue on vinyl.

The band released their fifteenth album, Push Away The Sky, in 2013, and over the next year will release every one of the previous 14 full length records.

Releases will begin on the 27th of October, with the first seven albums scheduled as follows:

Your Funeral… My Trial (1986)

November 17
Nocturama (2003)
Abattoir Blues / The Lyre Of Orpheus (2004)
Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! (2008)

November 24
Kicking Against The Pricks (1986)

The remaining 7 albums will be released during the course of 2015.

Nick Cave announces solo European tour for 2015

Nick Cave has announced a solo European tour to take place in Spring 2015.

Cave will perform 5 UK shows at the beginning of the live dates, before moving on to play sets in Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, France, Spain and Russia.

Although billed as a solo tour, Cave will be joined on stage by several current or former members of his longtime band, The Bad Seeds, including Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey, Thomas Wydler and Barry Adamson.

Speaking of the announcement, Cave said: “The aim is to try to create a unique show – something special and out of the ordinary”

Tickets will go on sale this coming Friday, 3rd of October.

Nick Cave will play the following dates in the UK:

April 28th: Edinburgh Playhouse
April 29th: Gateshead Sage
April 30th: Nottingham Royal Concert Hall
May 3rd: London Royal Albert Hall

Nick Cave to perform live at Barbican documentary screening

Nick Cave will be performing live at the Barbican, London during the 17th September screening of documentary film 20,000 Days On Earth.

Fact reports that Cave will perform with bandmates Warren Ellis and Barry Adamson at the event, with the film’s directors, Ian Forsyth and Jane Pollard, participating in a Q&A session. The event will be broadcast live across 150 cinemas in the UK ahead of the film’s official release date of the 19th of September.

The film depicts 24hrs in the life of Cave, and won two awards at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Cave will also be appearing at screenings across North America, including Montreal on the 1st of August and New York on the 4th of August.

Nick Cave and The Bad Seed’s most recent studio album, Push The Sky Away, was released in February 2013.

Marianne Faithfull releases details of new album, ‘Give My Love To London’

Marianne Faithfull has released details of her new album.

Give My Love To London is scheduled for release in September and will feature lyrics by Faithfull and music from a host of well known artists.

On the record Faithfull will be backed by guest musicians Warren Ellis and Jim Sclavunos of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, as well as Portishead’s Adrian Utley on guitar, keyboards from Ed Harcourt, Rob Ellis on drums, Dimitri Tikovoi on bass and a string quartet. The album has been produced by Rob Ellis and Dimitri Tikovoi, and has been mixed by Flood.

Marianne Faithfull will embark on a year long world tour this autumn in support of the release. Nick Cave, Roger Waters and Anna Calvi are amongst the other artists who have written music for the album.
