I’m a big fan and I think The Epigenesis is on of the greatest extreme metal records ever done! I love the fact that they come from a different part of the world like me. Blues Pills announce release of new live album

Blues Pills FB-001

Blues Pills have announced that they are to release a limited edition live album recorded at the Freak Valley Festival in Germany last year.

Blues Pills Live will be released on the 20th March via Nuclear Blast. The album will be available in various coloured vinyl editions and a CD digibook format. No digital editions are currently planned.

Say Blues Pills of the release: “To the lovely freaks, Freak Valley creators, our dear friend Jens Heide. For us this moment and this day was really special. It felt like all the puzzle pieces came together up until one moment, this experience at Freak Valley Festival.”

“This was our first ever appearance at Freak Valley and our first ever headline show on an outdoor festival. We’ve known about Jens and his freaks for a long time. He gave the name to our band and been supporting us since day one, before our demos where public or even recorded, before when there was only a young and naive dream of playing for any crowds or getting record deals, before we even played a single show – before Devil Man even was written and before the band was fully formed, before when it was just the beginning of an idea.”

Blues Pills will return to the UK this April for an 8-date headline run of live shows. Confirmed gigs are as follows:

Apr 22nd: London O2 Academy Islington
Apr 23rd: Cardiff Globe
Apr 24th: Manchester Club Academy
Apr 25th: Dublin Voodoo Lounge
Apr 27th: Belfast Limelight 2
Apr 28th: Glasgow Cathouse
Apr 29th: Nottingham Rescue Rooms
Apr 30th: Bristol Bierkeller

Fallujah announce deal with Nuclear Blast Entertainment

San Francisco progressive death metal band Fallujah have signed a deal with Nuclear Blast Entertainment the group have revealed.

The Bay Area musicians caused a splash in 2014 with the release of their latest album The Flesh Prevails, delivering as it did a highly accomplished and more overtly melodic approach to death metal.

Posting the news on their Facebook page the band said: “We’re extremely excited to be part of a roster alongside not just great bands, but great people who are dedicated to the craft and enthusiastic about our vision of where we see Fallujah going. Fallujah is all about pushing the envelope, taking risks, and keeping an open mind; with that mentality we felt Nuclear Blast was the most obvious and logical step for a band such as ours. With our team behind us, we can’t wait to see Fallujah grow.”

LISTEN! Sylosis stream new album “Dormant Heart” in full

Sylosis December 2015

Sylosis are streaming their new album, Dormant Heart, in full following its release today.

The stream comes hot on the heels of the release of preview videos for the album’s lead single “Mercy”, and second track “Leech”.

Frontman Josh Middleton sums up the new record thus: “It’s the most pissed-off, aggressive and intense album we’ve done, yet it still retains the epic, progressive and melodic side we’re also known for. It’s a very gloomy and atmospheric album.

“We’ve been through a lot as a band and individuals and we’ve made our darkest album to date.”

The album is Sylosis’ first following the departure of drummer Rob Callard last September. Callard was replaced by Bleed From Within’s Ali Richardson who will play with both bands moving forward.

You can stream Dormant Heart via the Nuclear Blast records website.
