Avey Tare announces details of solo album

Avey Tare, member of experimental outfit Animal Collective who made waves with their 2009 album Merriweather Post Pavilion, has announced that he is to release a solo album.

The musician will release Down There on 26th October via Animal Collective’s own label, Paw Tracks. The album was recorded in upstate New York by bandmate Deakin in an old church surrounded by The Great Swamp.

Another member of Animal Collective, Panda Bear, is also set to release a new solo album this year. Tomboy is due out in September.
