Clutch release video for ‘A Quick Death In Texas’

Clutch 2015

Clutch have released a video for their track “A Quick Death In Texas.”

The song features on the band’s most recent album, Psychic Warfare, released last year via the band’s own Weathermaker Music label.

Whilst on tour with Lamb Of God and Corrosion Of Conformity in the US, Clutch frontman Neil Fallon recently told New Noise that the band don’t want to play it safe with their sound: “There are artists who see success with a song then try different versions of that song for the rest of their career – and that sounds very depressing. I would rather take a risk and fail at it.”

Check out the video for “A Quick Death In Texas” below.

Clutch confirm details of new album ‘Psychic Warfare’

Clutch 2015

Clutch have revealed the artwork, full track list and release date for their forthcoming new album.

Psychic Warfare will feature 12 tracks and will be released on the 2nd of October via the band’s own Weathermaker Music label. It will be the band’s 11th studio album.

Clutch frontman Neil Fallon previously revealed the album title in May when being interviewed on the Metal Hammer Magazine Show on Total Rock Radio: “Psychic warfare is a lyric from the first track, ‘X-Ray Visions.’ It’s about a guy holed up in a motel for unexplained reasons, and he’s under great duress, being attacked by psychically-empowered agents of unknown origin. At least, that’s the back story I have in my head.”

He added: “It’s probably faster than Earth Rocker. We wrote it pretty quickly after Earth Rocker so we were kind of still in that headspace.”

The band will return to the UK and Europe in November for a series of tour dates. You can find all the details here.

The track list for Psychic Warfare is:

01. “The Affidavit”
02. “X-Ray Visions”
03. “Firebirds”
04. “A Quick Death In Texas”
05. “Sucker For The Witch”
06. “Your Love Is Incarceration”
07. “Doom Saloon”
08. “Our Lady Of Electric Light”
09. “Noble Savage Clutch”
10. “Behold The Colossus”
11. “Decapitation Blues”
12. “Son Of Virginia”

Clutch reveal details of 11th studio album

Clutch promo-band-2

Clutch have revealed the name of their forthcoming studio album along with 7 of its tracks.

Speaking on the UK’s TeamRock Radio Metal Hammer Magazine Show, frontman Neil Fallon confirmed that the album will be titled Psychic Warfare and will be out in September.

Fallon told Metal Hammer’s Alexander Milas: “Psychic Warfare is a lyric from the first track, ‘X-Ray Visions’. It’s about a guy holed up in a motel for unexplained reasons, and he’s under great duress, being attacked by psychically-empowered agents of unknown origin. At least, that’s the back story I have in my head.”

Fallon goes on to explain that the concept is influenced by SF author Philip K Dick. “His general philosophy and questions have always crept into my lyrics, because I share an interest in it. On Earth Rocker, ‘Crucial Velocity’ was definitely a Philip K Dick song for me. On this record, ‘X-Ray Visions’ certainly is.”

Clutch recently played a showcase live show in New York at D’Angelico Guitars. New songs played at the showcase included “X-Ray Visions”, “Firebird”, “Quick Death In Texas”, “Our Lady Of Electric Lights”, “Monsters”, “Decapitation Blues” and “Son Of Virginia.”
