Watch! Brian May shares trailer for “One Night In Hell”

One Night In Hell Vid Crop 640x360

Queen guitarist Brian May has shared a trailer for his new short film, One Night In Hell.

May teamed up with animation company Unanico Group to create the film that is based on May’s own collection of Diableries, stereoscopic cards published in France during the 19th century depicting scenes from hell.

May published a book on the subject in 2013, Diableries: Stereoscopic Adventures in Hell, which he co-authored with historians Paula Fleming and Denis Pellerin.

Speaking in interview with the UK’s Classic Rock Magazine, May said: “Paul Laikin from Unanico got in touch with me originally because he’d seen the book and found the visuals so inspiring. We immediately realised that we both spoke the same language, and both shared a passion for these things, and it all happened very quickly after that.”

“I don’t want to give too much away, but it’s basically a day in the life of Satan in Hell. It’s very tongue-in-cheek, because that’s what the Diableries were – they started as a rather stern depiction of the religious teachings of the time, but evolved into a parody of those teachings.”

“In the film we’ve mainly concentrated on the personalities of the characters in the cards, and the thread through the film is this one little guy who arrives in Hell with a strange little suitcase under his arm, and it’s about his journey through various rooms in Hell.”

Queen announce new album, “Queen Forever”

Layout 1

Legendary British rock band Queen have revealed that they will release a new album this winter.

Queen Forever is scheduled for release on November the 10th via Virgin Records.

The tracks include a long anticipated track from Queen and Michael Jackson, “There Must Be More to Life Than This”, a previously unfinished Mercury-Queen track “Let Me In Your Heart Again” originating from the band’s The Works album recording sessions, and a scorching new stripped-down ballad version of Mercury’s first solo hit, his Giorgio Moroder collaboration, “Love Kills.”

The album will be available as a 20-track single CD and as an extended 36-track, two-CD set. As well as three new tracks, the package brings together Queen hits, classic tracks, and new takes on well-known songs, matched with band recordings Brian May describes as “things that we have collected together that are representative of our growth rather than the big hits” in a collection immaculately assembled by May and Roger Taylor themselves.
