Of Mice & Men have shared a video for their new track, “Pain.”

The song is lifted from the band’s fourth studio LP, Cold World, scheduled for release on the 9th of September via Rise Records.

You can watch the promo clip for “Pain” below and receive an instant download of the track when you pre-order the new album here.

Of Mice & Men have previously revealed that Cold World will feature a contribution from a 14 year old fan named Cassy. The teenager has terminal brain cancer and her handclaps will be heard on the album.

Say OM&M: “The relationship and history between Cassy, Austin Carlile and the band has been a rich one over the years. Today was a much needed day for Cassy, her mom, cousin and family, as was it for all involved.

“Today was a day to forget all the stresses and problems of the world and to be surrounded by nothing but pure love, happiness and joy. Today Cassy was disease-free – today Cassy was ‘living the dream.'”

Cold World is produced by David Bendeth, who the band also worked with on previous album Restoring Force.

Rise Records bought by BMG in multi-million dollar deal

Rise Records BMG

The Portland, Oregon based rock and metal label Rise Records has been bought by BMG according to a report at Music Business Worldwide.

Rise Records was founded in 1991 by Craig Ericson and is home to the likes of Of Mice & Men, The Devil Wears Prada and PVRIS, as well as new supergroup Teenage Time Killers. The two parties have reportedly agreed a multi-million dollar deal.

The move makes BMG the UK’s fifth biggest record company following it’s recent acquisitions of UK-based label Infectious, the US-based Vagrant Records and catalogue specialist Union Square Music.

The deal sees BMG fully acquire Rise, but the label will continue to be run by Ericson from Rise’s existing Portland offices. BMG will provide back office functions and give Rise artists access to its international network.

Craig Ericson, President of Rise Records, said, “I’m thrilled to work with BMG and I know Rise Records and its bands will benefit greatly from this new partnership.”

BMG CEO Hartwig Masuch said, “BMG continues to invest in the future of the music business.

“We believe music offers tremendous potential – provided you recognise the rules of the game have changed.

“An innovative company like Rise Records is an ideal match for BMG.”

Masterminded by core members Reed Mullin (Corrosion Of Conformity), Mick Murphy (My Ruin/The Birds Of Satan/Chevy Metal/Neanderthal) and John “Lou” Lousteau, Greatest Hits Vol.1 is expected to appear in early 2015.

The album was produced by John Lousteau and mastered by Jason Livermore at The Blasting Room. Mixing and the recording of all instrumental parts took place at Dave Grohl’s famed Studio 606 in Northridge, California on the legendary Neve mixing board which was the central focus of Grohl’s acclaimed documentary film Sound City: Real To Reel.
