Prophets Of Rage to play one-off show at LA’s Whisky A Go Go TONIGHT!

Prophets of Rage, the collective featuring former members of Rage Against The Machine alongside Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Cypress Hill’s B-Real, have announced a one-off LA show taking place tonight (31st May)!

In a post on the Prophets Of Rage Facebook page and in an e-mail sent to the group’s e-mail list, the band say: “Prophets Of Rage combines the sonic firepower of Rage Against The Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill. We can no longer stand on the sidelines of history. Dangerous times demand dangerous songs. It’s time to take the power back. It’s time to make America RAGE again.”

The live show will take place at LA’s Whisky A Go Go at 8:30pm tonight, with proceeds from the show going to P.A.T.H. (People Assisting The Homeless).

Tickets are available via the Whisky A Go Go box office from 10am today priced at $20 each, cash only. If you want to get hold of a ticket you’ll need to turn up in person and only one ticket per person is allowed. Doors will open tonight at 7pm!

Nightwish announce one-off Wembley Arena show

Nightwish have announced that they will play a one-off show at London’s SSE Wembley Arena this year.

The Finnish symphonic metal band will hit the stage on the 19th of December, making history as the first Finnish band to headline the stadium.

“Who would have thought about headlining at Wembley Arena one day when we were starting our UK touring history from the downstairs of the legendary Astoria Club in London over ten years ago. This truly is a dream come true for us!” says Tuomas Holopainen, founder member and keyboard player.

The impressive support on the night will come from Arch Enemy and Amorphis, and tickets will be going on sale this Friday at 10am!

Nightwish’s new album, Endless Forms Most Beautiful, is due for release on the 30th of March via Nuclear Blast.

Morello and Cornell to play together at charity benefit show

Former Audioslave bandmates Chris Cornell and Tom Morello are to play together at a charity benefit show, the pair have revealed.

The two musicians joined forces when Audioslave formed in 2001 after the break up of legendary bands Soundgarden and Rage Against The Machine. The group enjoyed a six year, three album run before Cornell left citing “personal and musical differences.” Morello, along with Audioslave bandmates Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk, returned to Rage Against The Machine, and Cornell regrouped with Soundgarden in 2010.

The two men will reunite on stage in Seattle on the 26th of September at a concert raising funds and awareness of the 15 Now campaign, which aims to raise the US minimum wage to $15 per hour.

Morello will headline the show in his Nightwatchman persona, with Cornell appearing as a guest during the acoustic set.

Jah Wobble’s Invaders Of The Heart announce first show in 20 yrs

Jah WobbleUK music legend Jah Wobble is celebrating 36 years in music this year with the release of a career-spanning 6-CD box set, ReDux, and a brand new single, “Let’s Go Psycho.”

To launch the release, Wobble is reforming his group, Invaders Of The Heart, for a one-off show at London’s Under The Bridge. The show will take place on the 10th of October.

Wobble rose to prominence as the original bass player in John Lydon’s post-Sex Pistols band, Public Image Ltd. His distinctive sound and style of playing soon garnered him notoriety and led The Guardian to describe him as “a true maverick.”

Invaders Of The Heart released their debut album in 1990, following it up with the Mercury Music Prize-nominated sophomore LP, “Rising Above Bedlam”, in 1991. The band stopped playing live in 1994, even though more studio albums followed.

The 6-CD ReDux set will be released later in the year, with Disc 1 also being released as a stand-alone Greatest Hits package. Disc 6 of ReDux comprises a brand new Jah Wobble album, and also features some exclusive covers.
