SHVPES share video for new track ‘Skin & Bones’

SHVPES May 2016

UK metal band SHVPES have shared a video for their track “Skin & Bones.”

The song is lifted from the band’s debut full length album, PAIN. JOY. ECSTASY. DESPAIR., out now via Search And Destory/Spinefarm.

“This song is about maintaining your integrity when you’re surrounded by people who are trying to diminish it,” explains front-man Griffin Dickinson. “It’s taken from my time at school, where it seemed that being in any way different to the ‘norm’ meant you were ostracised and ridiculed for your differences. This song is both in recognition of how much it got to me, plus a reminder to never let that mentality take hold of me again.”

“The video represents someone who feels like an alien in their surroundings, alone & encircled by people who take them as some sort of gimmick, but they do their own thing regardless.”

You can watch the video below.

SHVPES are currently touring across the UK, with remaining live dates as follows. All shows are co-headline dates with Press To Meco:

Oct 20th: Cardiff, Clwb Ifor Bach
Oct 21st: Nottingham, Basement

UK metal band SHVPES have shared a new track.

“Two Minutes Of Hate” is set to feature on the band’s debut album, PAIN. JOY. ECSTASY. DESPAIR, due for release via Search and Destroy/Spinefarm Records on the 14th of October.

The song and its video come hot on the heels of the band sharing previous tracks “God Warrior” and “False Teeth.”

SHVPES frontman, Griffin Dickinson says of the new album: “As a concept, this album is about finding the beauty in whatever situation you’re in. Your ability to feel pain, to feel despair is ultimately what allows you to embrace the feeling of joy or ecstasy. It’s like yin & yang. ‘Pain. Joy. Ecstasy. Despair.’ gave me a platform to expel 24 years’ worth of frustration and turn it into something positive; something I can be proud of and something, I hope, the listener can find solace in.”

PAIN. JOY. ECSTASY. DESPAIR. has been produced by Carl Bown & Jim Pinder (While She Sleeps, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine).

SHVPES will be appearing as sole support to Asking Alexandria at two very special sold out UK shows this summer.

SHVPES release new single and lyric video ‘God Warrior’

SHVPES May 2016

SHVPES have released the first single from their forthcoming debut album.

“God Warrior” is set to feature on the band’s new LP, produced by Carl Bown & Jim Pinder (While She Sleeps, Trivium, Machine Head) and due for release later this year via Spinefarm.

Says SHVPES vocalist Griffin: “We’re finally out of musical hibernation and so excited to start showing the world what SHVPES is really all about. There have been a lot of big changes in our camp over the past year and it’s time to re-lay the foundations. This song’s about the stupidity in following something that’s quite obviously fucking evil. Get ready for what’s coming next.”

Check out the lyric video for “God Warrior” below.

Meanwhile, SHVPES will play shows with Spinefarm label-mates We Came As Romans on their UK co-headline tour with Miss May I later this month.

In addition, SHVPES will perform on the ‘Fresh Blood’ stage at this year’s The Great Escape festival, whilst in June they’re confirmed for both the Camden Rocks & Download festivals.

24th May: Liverpool, Arts Club
25th May: Glasgow, King Tut’s
26th May: Newcastle, O2 Academy 2

SHVPES 2016

UK metal band SHVPES have parted ways with their bassist, Ollie Pike.

The band, who recently finished recording their full length debut album, made the announcement via their official Facebook page earlier today.

In their statement SHVPES say: “It comes with a heavy heart that we announce we have parted ways with our bassist, Ollie. Ollie has been with the band since the early Cytota days and we’re all sad to see him go. We wish him all the best in the future and thank him for the time and energy he spent with the band.”

Ollie adds: “I have parted ways with SHVPES. This is for the best and there is no bad blood between us. I just want to thank everyone that has ever supported the band and come down to a show it truly means a lot to me. I will be pursuing other interests that are right for me in time but for now I’m going to take some time out. I have had the best 6 years of my life with these guys and I will never forget my time in SHVPES and CYTOTA. I would like to thank Raw Power and Spinefarm for the incredible opportunities they have given me and I will treasure them for the rest of my life.

“Thank you once again to everyone.

P.S. the album is killer and it is going to blow your mind… It was an honour to be a part of it.”
