Clutch release video for ‘A Quick Death In Texas’

Clutch 2015

Clutch have released a video for their track “A Quick Death In Texas.”

The song features on the band’s most recent album, Psychic Warfare, released last year via the band’s own Weathermaker Music label.

Whilst on tour with Lamb Of God and Corrosion Of Conformity in the US, Clutch frontman Neil Fallon recently told New Noise that the band don’t want to play it safe with their sound: “There are artists who see success with a song then try different versions of that song for the rest of their career – and that sounds very depressing. I would rather take a risk and fail at it.”

Check out the video for “A Quick Death In Texas” below.

MassMatiks share video for new single ‘4AM’, announce support slots for Allusondrugs

MassMatiks promo 2016

UK four piece MassMatiks have released a video for their second single, “4AM.”

With frontman George Peploe’s fierce vocal performance front and centre, the track soon puts its gentle opening lament to rest, evolving into a driving, riff-led melodic chorus.

Inspired by a past breakup, Peploe comments on the video for “4AM” saying: “We wanted to connect the story of the song with the video, so we came up with the idea of setting up TVs and playing what was going through my head at the time.

“As the song goes on, so does the narrative in the video. Trashing the TVs felt like the natural thing to do to reflect the emotions I felt during the breakup – not gonna lie, it was fun too…”

You can check out the clip below.

Following their headline show at London’s Old Blue Last on the 13th July, MassMatiks will make their next live appearance at this year’s Y Not Festival in Matlock on the 21st of July.

They will then head out on the road in August, supporting UK psych-pop-grunge outfit Allusondrugs.

Jul 21st: Y Not Festival, Matlock
Aug 03rd: London, Black Heart
Aug 04th: Guildford, Boileroom
Aug 05th: Cantebury, Lady Luck
Aug 07th: Southampton, Joiners
Aug 08th: Plymouth, Underground

Jenny Hval details new album ‘Blood Bitch’ and streams new track ‘Female Vampire’

Jenny Hval 2016

Jenny Hval has confirmed that she will release her new album, Blood Bitch, on the 30th of September.

It will be the follow up to the Norwegian artist’s 2015 release, Apocalypse, Girl.

Says Hval of the new material: “Blood Bitch is an investigation of blood. Blood that is shed naturally. The purest and most powerful, yet most trivial, and most terrifying blood – menstruation. The white and red toilet roll chain which ties together the virgins, the whores, the mothers, the witches, the dreamers, and the lovers.

Blood Bitch is also a fictitious story, fed by characters and images from horror and exploitation films of the 70s. With that language, rather than smart, modern social commentary, I found I could tell a different story about myself and my own time – a poetic diary of modern transience and transcendence.”

You can hear a new track from the album, Female Vampire, via the stream below. Be sure to check it out and let us know what you think.
