Groombridge share new track ‘ The Resigned Maestro’ and release new album trailer

Groombridge 2015

Swiss progressive rock outfit Groombridge have shared their new track “The Resigned Maestro.”

The sublime new song is lifted from the band’s forthcoming album Boy from the Golden City, their fourth studio LP due for release on the 6th of November via Prolog Records.

In a statment, Groombridge explain the origins of the new LP: “Most of the songs on this release were written at a time when both Dyle’s (vocals and guitar) sons fell ill with life threatening implications, and no doctor able to offer a conclusive diagnosis or solution.

“This might be one reason why this album is full of raw intensity and unhinged emotions. If you want to really get it, if you really want to feel it – you’ll have to really take the time to listen and unravel this world, layer after layer.”

Roger Waters releases trailer for upcoming concert film ‘The Wall’

Roger Waters The Wall 2015

Roger Waters has released a trailer for his forthcoming concert film which is based on The Wall’s three-year world tour.

The production, directed by Sean Evans, is described as a story that “unfolds on many levels – an immersive concert experience of the seminal 1979 album, a road movie of Waters’ reckoning with the death of his father in Italy in 1944, and a stirring film that highlights the human cost of armed conflict.”

The Wall broke numerous records as it toured between 2010 and 2013. A total of 219 performances were put on, grossing over $460m. The tour’s London date even saw a one-off live reunion with Pink Floyd bandmates David Gilmour and Nick Mason.

The Wall is scheduled for release worldwide on the 29th of September and includes an interview with Waters and Mason.

First trailer released for Cobain: Montage Of Heck

Kurt Cobain Montage of Heck vid cap

A trailer has been released for forthcoming documentary Cobain: Montage Of Heck, the first authorised film about the life of late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.

Shared today exclusively via Yahoo, the clip features poignant footage of Kurt’s life, from his childhood through to his relationship with Courtney Love and the birth of his daughter Frances Bean. Bean, now 22, served as Executive Producer on the project.

Speaking at the time of the film’s announcement, Director Brett Morgen said: “I started work on this project eight years ago. Like most people, when I started, I figured there would be limited amounts of fresh material to unearth,” he says.

“However, once I stepped into Kurt’s archive, I discovered over 200 hours of unreleased music and audio, a vast array of art projects – oil paintings, sculptures – countless hours of never-before-seen home movies, and over 4000 pages of writings that together help paint an intimate portrait of an artist who rarely revealed himself to the media.”

The film premiered to critical acclaim at the Sundance Film Festival in January. It is due to receive it public debut on the 4th May via US TV channel HBO. A cinema release will follow.

Watch! Machine Head release album trailer for “Bloodstone and Diamonds”

Machine Head Band Shot

Machine Head have released an official trailer for their new album Bloodstone & Diamonds.

The LP is set for release on the 10th of November via Nuclear Blast.

Frontman Robb Flynn recently explained to Metal Hammer that the album cover is intended to look akin to an alchemy book from the 1800s:

“So much of that symbolism, in alchemy, Masonic stuff and in the Tarot, there’s a duality to it. There’s a face value image, but when you look deeper you realise that it means something totally different. I love that in lyrics too,” he says.
