Iron Maiden’s Trooper beer to go on sale in cans in the US

Iron Maiden The Trooper

Iron Maiden’s Trooper beer will go on sale in the USA in January.

Rather then being presented in the bottles familiar to punters in the UK, the beer will be sold in 500ml ‘tallboy’ cans.

The beer was first launched in the UK by Robinsons Brewery in 2013. Says Managing Director of the brewery Oliver Robinson in interview with the Manchester Evening News:

“At the start of the millennium only a handful of small North American producers were canning their beers.

“Today, it’s the biggest growth area in the US craft industry with more than 400 US craft breweries all electing to can their beers rather than bottle, and I have a sneaky suspicion that a canned comeback could be on the cards for the UK as well.

“There are many reasons for the rise in canned beers, but ultimately it boils down to the fact that there’s something rather cool about a premium beer in a can.”

King Crimson

Details of King Crimson live shows in 2014 have started to appear across the web.

According to a report at Rolling Stone, they will play New York’s Best Buy Theater on the 18th, 19th and 20th of September, with tickets going on sale this Friday, 6th of June at Noon EST.

We are on-call to be ready for a live performance on September 1, 2014. Seven members. Four English, three American. Three drummers. It’s a different configuration of King Crimson than before. Some are familiar names, maybe more than others.”

The line-up for these shows is expected to be Robert Fripp, Gavin Harrison, Bill Rieflin, Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Mel Collins and Jakko Jakszyk. All have been members of King Crimson in the past, with the exception of Rieflin and Jakszyk who have been involved on the fringes of the band for a number of years.
