Von Hertzen Brothers announce European tour dates

Von Hertzen Brothers - Hold Me Up

Von Hertzen Brothers have announced a new set of European tour dates for this autumn.

The Finnish rockers will kick off proceedings with two shows in the UK, starting in Southampton on the 2nd of September.

The band recently shared a video for their single “Hold Me Up”, lifted from their most recent studio album New Day Rising, released earlier this year. Say the siblings of the track: ““We were aiming for an honest, all-embracing declaration of love for someone who stands beside us through storms and rain. Soundscape-wise, we wanted it to be very 90s, and to achieve this we wrote a string orchestration that The Manics would be proud of.”

Von Hertzen Brothers will play:

Sep 02nd: Southampton Talking Heads, UK
Sep 04th: London The Underworld, UK
Sep 12th: Helsinki Tavastiaklubi, Finland
Nov 21st: Stockholm Prog Fest, Sweden

Watch! Von Hertzen Brothers embrace declaration of love in video for ‘Hold Me Up’

Von Hertzen Brothers - Hold Me Up

Von Hertzen Brothers have shared a video for their track “Hold Me Up.”

The song is lifted from the band’s most recent album New Day Rising, released in March via Spinefarm Records and the follow up to 2013’s Nine Lives LP.

Say VHB in a statement: “We were aiming for an honest, all-embracing declaration of love for someone who stands beside us through storms and rains. Soundscape-wise we wanted it to be very ‘90s and to achieve this we wrote a string orchestration that The Manics would be proud of.”

“Back in 2012 an artist called Tapio Rosenius drilled 2012 holes in an oil tank to make a wonderful piece of art. In 2015, an opportunity arose for us to shoot a music video for ‘Hold Me Up’ at this amazing location. The light plays a big role here, as the song is all about the having an element of light in our lives. Someone who is always there for us… like the sun… even though we might not always see it.”

Von Hertzen Brothers share lyric video for new track Trouble

Von Hertzen Brothers - Trouble

Von Hertzen Brothers have released a lyric video for their new track “Trouble.”

The song is the second tune to be shared from the band’s forthcoming new album, New Day Rising, scheduled for release on the 23rd of March via Spinefarm Records.

An official video for the title track was released back in February.

Siblings Mikko, Kie & Jonne Von Hertzen recorded the album with regular drummer Mikko Kaakkuriniemi and keyboard player Juha Kuoppalaat at The Farm in Vancouver. Grammy-nominated Canadian producer Garth ‘GGGarth’ Richardson (Biffy Clyro, Rage Against The Machine and more) was in the producer’s chair and the album was mixed by Randy Staub (Metallica, Alice In Chains.)

Says Mikko of the new album: “Working with GGGarth and Randy felt like we finally got to operate with true maestros – the crème de la crème of Canadian know-how. All bullshit aside, the end result is all that matters, and quite frankly, I’ve never been prouder of anything we’ve done. Together we raised the bar to a whole new level, and only time will tell if we’ll ever be able to beat that or raise the bar even more. I mean, we are talking some serious Sergey Bubka heights here!”
