Singer and songwriter Vashti Bunyan has revealed details of a new album.

Heartleap is scheduled for release on the 6th of October via FatCat records. The LP will only be Bunyan’s third studio album, following the release of her debut, Just Another Diamond Day, in 1970, and 2005’s Lookaftering.

Bunyan was discovered by Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham, and released her first single in 1965. Following disappointingly poor sales of her debut album, she stopped releasing music altogether, but LP retained a cult following. Just Another Diamond Day was then re-released in 2000 following the use of it’s title track in an ad campaign.

The new album was produced by Bunyan herself and recorded largely in her home studio. The release will be supported by a UK tour, starting on the 7th of October.

Vashti Bunyan will play:

7th of October: MAC, Birmingham
8th and 9th of October: St. Pancras Church, London
11th Of October: The Band Room, Farndale
12th of October: St. Philip’s Church, Manchester
