The Who have postponed their final two UK tour dates after vocalist Roger Daltrey was ordered to rest his voice.
The shows were due to have taken place tonight (Wednesday 17th Dec) and tomorrow (Thursday 18th Dec) at London’s O2 Arena. They now won’t happen until March 22nd and 23rd of next year.
Said a spokesman in a statement: “On medical advice, Roger has been ordered to rest due to a throat infection. The band and management wish to apologise to all ticket-holders for the inconvenience and disappointment.”
The band are on the road marking The Who’s 50th anniversary. Daltrey recently described the tour as “the beginning of the long goodbye.”
Following the re-scheduled dates The Who will play at the 2015 British Summertime Festival in Hyde Park, bringing their current tour cycle to a close. It is a rumoured that a new album is in the works.
